Maria joined the Metropolis Board in 2023, bringing with her a background in nonprofit fundraising and management, specifically focusing on health and social services. She holds a BFA in Theatre from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and an MA in Speech and Language Pathology from Indiana University, Bloomington.
Maria’s connection to Metropolis is profoundly personal. Having resided in Arlington Heights for more than a decade, she and her family share a passion for live theater. Metropolis occupies a special place in their hearts, as it was Maria’s late mother’s favorite venue for experiencing the enchantment of theater and music.
Motivated by a desire to give back, Maria devotes her free time to volunteering as a nonprofit mentor and actively engages with the community. She is excited to contribute her fundraising expertise to support Metropolis in its growth and success.
