Oscar Wilde’s satirical masterpiece of deception and wit is one of the most enduring and delightful comedies ever written. Debonair bachelors Jack and Algernon each lead a hidden double life, but when a weekend in the country gives them the chance to win the hearts of two society ladies, keeping track of their lavish web of lies turns out to be amusingly hopeless. Like a brilliantly paced piece of brisk music, confusion and hilarity reign in what the playwright famously referred to as “a trivial comedy for serious people.”
