Micky here (Carol music director, and the guy playing the piano and counting in both clips). I should probably explain Spectarama…it’s a holiday diction exercise we use during warmups, from an old children’s musical called “Gettin’ Ready for the Miracle”. I performed it at church nearly 30 years ago, and this verse has always stuck in my head.
I often use songs that are NOT in the show during warmups, just to keep things fresh. Plus, you’ll notice that we get faster and faster and faster as time goes on, and we don’t want to get used to singing show songs at that tempo.
I’ve only been able to find one other recording of this song, sung by a young girl who has some trouble remembering all the lyrics. So ours is probably the best one out there. Enjoy!
The hilarious thing is that I was in “Gettin’ Ready for the Miracle” 20 years ago and sang that song! So I have a good recording of it! Love you Tessa! Can’t wait to see you!
