Curtains Up! campers help paint the set

Stop by Metropolis during the day and you’ll see scores of young artists, learning and perfecting their performance skills. Take a peek into our theatre in the evening and you’ll find actors and musicians auditioning for shows in our 2009/10 season.

As SOPA camp session one comes to a close, campers are preparing for their weekend performances of 101 Dalmatians and Aladdin Jr. In just 4 short weeks,  campers and counselors have taken these shows from beginning to end, everything from auditioning for their parts, to helping paint the sets, to memorizing their lines.

In the afternoons, Metropolis hosts the High School Performance Experience cast as they rehearse for their week-long run of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. With half their shows already sold out, this young cast is ready for a fantastic, exciting run!

Plus, our casting department is in full swing with callbacks. Metropolis is producing 8 shows this season! After a busy week of general auditions, Director of Casting Robin Hughes and the directors of each production have the tough task of narrowing the field down one more time to create amazing, memorable casts for each Metropolis production.
