MUSICAL THEATRE (Grades 1-12)

 

Broadway Bound

Through games and activities, students learn the basics of storytelling and character development as they relate to musical theatre. Song and dance pieces develop students vocal and movement techniques.

  • Grades 1-2, Wednesdays 4:30-5:30pm, $230

 

Broadway Players (Prerequisite: Broadway Bound)

Expanding on the skills developed in Broadway Bound, this class will help students strengthen their ability to combine singing, dancing, and acting in a performance piece.

  • Grades 1-2, Thursdays 4:30-5:30pm, $230

 

Broadway or Bust!

In this class, students build on their foundation of musical theatre skills through a focus on character development, movement and music terminology. Performance skills are developed through choreographed song and dance numbers.

  • Grades 3-5, Wednesdays 5:30-6:30pm, $230

 

Broadway Troupers (Prerequisite: Broadway or Bust! or Broadway Players)

Adding to the foundation of skills established in previous classes, Broadway Troupers expands students’ singing, dancing and acting techniques.

  • Grades 3-5, Thursdays 5:30-6:30pm,  $230

 

Broadway Studio (Prerequisite: Broadway Troupers)

This intensive class will get students into shape and ready to join any musical theatre cast! Students polish song and dance pieces from current and classic Broadway shows, getting experience in a wide range of musical and dance styles.

  • Grades 3-5, Thursdays 5:30-6:30pm, $230

 

Waving Through A Window: Broadway Today

Join us as we dive into the worlds of Broadway’s current showstoppers like Dear Evan Hansen, Anastasia, Hamilton, and more! Students will work on their favorite songs as they pair them with choreography similar to what they could see right now on any Broadway stage. No prior experience necessary--just a love for musical theatre!  

  • Grades 6-12, Wednesdays 6:00-7:30pm, $330

 

DRAMA (Grades 1-12)

 

Acting Playtime

Through a variety of theatre games and exercises, students learn how to work together as an ensemble and create fun characters by using their imaginations, movements, and voices. Students also have the opportunity to develop their performance skills with stories, poems, and monologues.

  • Grades 1-2, Tuesdays 4:30-5:30pm,  $230

 

Acting Up! (Prerequisite: Acting Playtime)

Building off skills that students have learned in Acting Playtime, students work together to rehearse and perform a theatrical piece. In this class, students also focus on character development and connecting characters to the students’ own lives and experiences.  

  • Grades 1-2, Tuesdays 4:30-5:30pm, $230

 

Acting FUNdamentals

In this class, students develop their acting skills through exercises in storytelling and movement. Students will be encouraged to use their creativity to develop characters in scenes and monologues culminating in a final in-class performance.

  • Grades 3-5, Tuesdays 5:30-6:30pm, $230

 

Acting Workshop (Prerequisite: Acting Up or Acting FUNdamentals)

Expanding on the foundation of skills developed in previous classes, students work as a team to communicate a specific purpose through the exploration of folk tales, stories, or plays. Students will also have the opportunity to analyze, evaluate and perform scripts and theatrical works.

  • Grades 3-5, Tuesdays 5:30-6:30pm, $230

 

Acting Techniques

In this class, students learn the foundation of acting through games and exercises in character objectives and development. Script analysis and scene work encourage students to work together as an ensemble.

  • Grades 6-12, Saturdays 11:00am-12:30pm, $330

 

Actor’s Ensemble (Prerequisite: Acting Techniques, Theatre Studio Program Gr. 3-5 or by Faculty recommendation)

Building on the foundation developed in previous classes, students expand their skills in physicality, vocal techniques, characterization and script analysis. Students also focus on monologue and audition preparation. Culminating in a final performance, this class provides a well-rounded theatrical education for students interested in pursuing the Theatre Studio Program Gr. 6-12.

  • Grades 6-12, Saturdays 12:30-2:00pm, $330

 

Theatre Studio Program

This intensive, invitation-only program is the pinnacle achievement for dedicated actors. In a collaborative process, students focus on developing real characters with emotional connections, honing their voice and movement skills, and working as an ensemble. Students must be recommended for Theatre Studio Program by a faculty member.  A year-long commitment to the program is required.

  • Grades 3-5,  Saturdays 10:00-11:00am, $230 (per semester)
  • Grades 6-12, Saturdays 11:00am-12:30pm, $330 (per semester)

 

IMPROV (Grades 3-12)

Explore the fun and fast-paced world of improvisation! Students learn to take risks, think on their feet, stay focused and be ready for anything! Students will work on creating original characters, interesting stories, hilarious scenes and supporting their classmates.

 

Beginning

  • Grades 3-5, Wednesdays 5:00-6:00pm, $230
  • Grades 6-12, Wednesdays 6:00-7:30pm, $330

Intermediate

  • Grades 3-5, Wednesdays 5:00-6:00pm, $230*

Advanced
