Juan Enrique Roque Irizarry Jr obtained a BA in Anthropology/Sociology with a Dance Studies minor from Knox College. As a versatile dancer he trained in Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Contemporary, and Hip-Hop. Juan Enrique attended, participated, and choreographed for American College Dance Festival (ACDA) for three years, participated in RAD Fest, Dance Chicago, and even studied abroad in Ghana, Africa examining West African dance, drumming, and music. Juan Enrique is currently a dancer at Innervation Dance Cooperative, founder of his dance company, J.E.R.I. Productions, and a Co-Founder of Pandora’s Box Dance Crew. His choreographic work represents the struggles and understandings of identity. Juan Enrique’s exploration and passion of dance still continues to flourish today and provides an anthropological and sociological influence through his teachings.
