The Metropolis internship program is an integral part of our professional functionality and the key principle of our dedication to education. Our intent is to best prepare our interns for the challenges of the performing arts industry and supply that industry with confident, able and educated job candidates. Our goal is to train those we would wish to hire. Internships are available for college students, college graduates and adults, and require a minimum of 20 hours per week. All internships are unpaid, but available for school credit. Metropolis does not provide housing or transportation.

Assistant Stage Manager Intern
Responsible for assisting the High School Performance Experience Director in all aspects of stage production including, but not limited to, stage direction, character development, and line cues.
Responsible for assisting the Casting Director and Production Manager in all aspects of casting including, but not limited to, auditions and callbacks.
Education Administration Intern
Responsible for assisting the Education Department in development and operation of the classes, children’s productions, workshops, career shadowing events, showcases, and other education department sponsored programs.
Special Events/Development Intern
Responsible for assisting the Development Manager and Special Events Manager in donor relations, grant research/writing, fundraising communications and effective planning and smooth execution of all Metropolis Special Events.
Production Management & Technical Intern
Responsible for assisting the Technical Director and Production Manager in all aspects of technical theatre including, but not limited to, lighting, sound and carpentry.
Apprenticeships are available for High School Students only, and require a minimum of ten hours per week.
